THE COURSE
**** 2-week Intensive Instruction & Training + 1-week Intensive Apprenticeship ****
FIRST WEEK
Day 1 to Day 5 (Tues. to Sat. - 10am to 4pm, lunch break 1pm to 200pm)
NOTE: From time to time, you will sit in with your instructor when he’s tattooing.
Day 1 – Orientation & History
- Introduction to Health & Safety
- Cross-contamination
- Blood pathogens
- Understanding your tools
Day 2 - Learning the tattoo machine
- Understanding needles
- Basic machine parts
- Getting the machine working
- The tattoo process
Day 3 - Understanding how to properly use needles
- Learning about tattoo inks
- Learning how to stencil
- Getting organized
Day 4 – Work with practice skins
- Preparing and applying tattoo stencils
- Preparing yourself and the client to tattoo
Day 5 – Work with practice skins
- Outlining, shadowing, and shading
- What you need to do after the tattoo session
Sunday and Monday - OFF
SECOND WEEK
Day 6, 7 & 8 (Tue., Wed., Thurs. – 10am to 4pm, lunch-break 1pm to 2pm)
Work with practice skins:
- Outlining
- Line-building
- Shading
- Colouring-in
- Blending
Day 9 to Day 10 (Fri. & Sat. - 10am to 4pm, lunch-break 1pm to 2pm)
- Work with practice skins (at your leisure)
Sunday and Monday - OFF
INTRODUCTION TO PIERCING
****Bonus Offer (no extra charge), therefore, Optional, you must let us know if you are interested & we will incorporate it into your curriculum.
- Board of Health requirements – Health & Safety
- Sterilization – getting to know the autoclave and ultrasonic machines
- Observing your instructor while piercing clients
Third Week - THE APPRENTICESHIP
Tuesday to Saturday–1:00 P.M. to 7 P.M. (Lunch break TBD)
**** Work in EXQUIZEET TATTOO & PIERCING STUDIO ****
- Assisting on hands-on procedures
- shadowing your instructor
- Tattoo real live models (4 in total)
- After having worked on real live models, you are on your own as a Tattoo Apprentice– you get to work on at least one real-paying customer and GET PAID for your work
- Build your portfolio
- At the end, you get:
1. Portfolio pictures
2. Letter of Completion
3. Certificate of Apprenticeship
